Who collects your information
LifeCovered Limited is the sole owner and controller of information collected through CompareNow. We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 (as amended by the Privacy Amendment Act 2025) and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) administered by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
What we collect
We collect only information that is necessary to provide our services. This includes:
- Name, contact details, date of birth, and occupation submitted through quote and contact forms.
- Health, lifestyle, and financial information you choose to share during the advice process.
- Records of inbound and outbound telephone calls, recorded for compliance, training, and quality assurance purposes.
- Email correspondence.
- Website usage data collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools.
You must be 18 years or over to use this site. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to submit information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we will delete any such information that comes to our attention.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a form, call us, email us, or otherwise engage with our services. We may also receive information from:
- Your nominated referrer (for example, another adviser or business partner who has directed you to us).
- Insurers and underwriters, when confirming receipt of an application or in connection with an existing enquiry.
This Privacy Policy serves as your notice under Information Privacy Principle 3.
Health and sensitive information
Where you provide health, lifestyle, or medical information for an insurance quote or application, we treat this as sensitive personal information. It is collected only when needed for the quote or underwriting purpose you have engaged us about. It is shared only with the insurer or underwriter relevant to your enquiry, and with the licensed adviser handling your file. It is stored under access controls limited to staff who need to see it for that purpose.
How we use your information
Your information is used to:
- Provide insurance quotes and product comparisons across the insurers we work with.
- Connect you with a licensed financial adviser operating under LifeCovered Limited (FSP675171) who can discuss your needs and recommend suitable cover.
- Maintain compliance records required by the Financial Markets Authority and the Privacy Act 2020.
- Improve our website, services, and communications.
Quote estimates produced on this site are based on the information you provide and insurers' published rates. They are indicative only and do not constitute automated decisions about your insurance application. Final underwriting decisions are made by the relevant insurer.
Who we share it with
Information is shared only with parties who need it to deliver our service to you:
- Licensed financial advisers operating under LifeCovered Limited (FSP675171).
- Insurers and underwriters relevant to your enquiry.
- Pipedrive, our customer relationship management system, used to manage adviser workflows.
- Service providers who support our infrastructure, including Supabase (database), Vercel (website hosting), and Google Workspace (email).
- Regulators, compliance assurance auditors, or other statutory parties where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Overseas data transfer
Some of the service providers we use store or process data outside New Zealand. This includes:
- Supabase (database), which hosts data on servers in the United States.
- Vercel (website hosting), which uses infrastructure in the United States.
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which transfer usage data to Google in the United States.
- Meta, which may receive cookie-based tracking data outside New Zealand.
- AI-assisted tools (see below) which may process data through third-party systems located overseas.
Where personal information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable with the Privacy Act 2020, as required by Information Privacy Principle 12.
AI-assisted tools
We may use secure technology tools, including AI-assisted tools, to record, transcribe, and summarise meetings to ensure accuracy and efficiency. These tools may process your information through third-party systems, which may be located overseas. By continuing to engage our services after being notified, you consent to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as described above. If you prefer not to be recorded, we can take manual notes instead. You may withdraw your consent to specific uses (such as meeting recording) at any time by notifying us, although this may affect our ability to provide services.
Cookies and tracking
We use the following tools to understand how visitors use the site, improve performance, and serve relevant ads:
- Google Tag Manager (container GTM-MJCBTJ): manages the loading of other tracking tags.
- Google Analytics 4: measures aggregate website usage.
- Meta advertising pixel: measures ad performance and enables retargeting where applicable.
We may also use AI-assisted tools as described above.

Data breaches
If a notifiable privacy breach occurs, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and any affected individuals as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of any information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us using the details below.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
